I gladly watched this again. Small rant: videos like these--like all of yours--are so important. Comics are insane and have the capacity to so specifically display humanity. Hope, grief, loss, pride, etc. The people who say that Superman is the most borning hero because he's so strong, havent read or watched a good Superman story--and these videos detail that so eloquently that I tear up just a bit watching them. Warms the heart and gives you hope. Keep up the amazing work, man. Thanks.

Honestly I wasn’t a fan of most of these. I liked 8, 1 was kinda funny, 3 was alright and I liked 4 until it just ended up being a Black Mirror “Playtest” knock off where none of it really happened and he was dead the whole time. The rest I didn’t really care for, especially episode 5 which I thought was just trash tbh.

You completely lost me when you said Episode 5 was good, genuinely you have the worst taste

The writers always make Batman a jerk and insult him. I feel that the Bat Family was originally invented to destroy Batman and stand against him and insult him. Batman deserves better treatment and respect and he deserves to be an emotional and caring person for his family.

Roy literally goes from the most one note stereotype character to one of the most complex and heartbreaking. His presence definitely made season 3 better.

I've been watching the boys recently and while I have enjoyed it, I feel like the political commentary has become less well written and relied more on provocative displays. After rewatching this arc of Justice League, it reminds me that the DCAU we're able to do very on-the-nose political commentary but in a much better way (minus the m rating)

Back after Season 4 started and the writers promptly forgot they were telling a story in favor of fitting in as many political jabs as possible.

Doesnt superboy prime show up in the original crisis on infinite earths comic? If he does, will he show up in part 3?

Not going to lie Krysten Ritter's portrayal of Jessica Jones made me recognize a lot of myself in her, and made me much more confident with who I am. Not going to lie it's also probably the reason I bought a black leather jacket. She'll always be my favorite superhero even though she probably doesn't consider herself a superhero. I think that depiction of trauma and also the bond between her and Trish is really really well done in this show all of the emotions and relationships are complex and they don't make anything black or white, so you genuinely recognize a lot of your own complicated human relationships between these characters because nothing is ever easy when you love someone but also hold resentment for the entire world.

So... I love this and the previous video. However, Hughie isn't excepted from the double bind. Hughie has two distinct traumas. First is his mother leaving their family. This on its own may have been relatively benign in his development, but it did shape his place in the world, and the second trauma of losing Robin catalyzed this primary trauma. His trauma invokes a sense of helplessness, the feeling of being at the mercy of the world, a plastic bag in the wind. And this materializes in Season 3. His double bind is presented in his desire to protect Annie even though their relationship works best when she's the protector and he supports her. He creates space between them by striking out for independence and getting the job with Neumann, not wanting to be reliant on Annie as much. He keeps Butcher's plan from her, and this has its own consequences. Things are made worse with the advent of Temp V, providing Hughie with a direct avenue of being Annie's would-be protector. This turns out to be a destructive force in their relationship, as well as destructive to his body. The tension in their relationship is present throughout the season. Until the bind is resolved when he turns up the lights in that last fight instead of taking the Temp V, realizing in that moment that he doesn't need to be her protector, something you pointed out in this video. He undoes the work of the previous two seasons to make his change permanent -- accepting that it isn't weak to simply manage with what he has, or to rely on the people around him.

This hit hard for me. I recently turned 50, mother passed a few years ago, trying to help my father as best I can, having a hard time making friends, family (already distant) moving further away. I can feel the depression and negativity seeping in as I question my own self-worth as a person. Doesn't help my job sucks and I don't feel appreciated there. If I didn't have my cat, I don't know what I'd do.
